JAMB Releases New Date For 2020 Post UTME Screening Exercise

 

JAMB Releases New Date – Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2020/2021 release Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening has been planned to begin in Nigeria’s higher institutions, beginning from 7th September.

As stated as a  new update, the decision was gotten at the meeting among the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions on Monday, the 10th.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede, that was the current registrar of JAMB, stated the announcement. The JAMB registrar reveals that the screening will start between September 7th and November 18th.

 

At the beginning of this month, it was reported to JAMB management board about the issue as a guideline for the entire tertiary institutions to start the admission process from 20th August.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede disclosed that the adjustment in the date would let applicants who register for institution to take the 2020 O’ level examinations to ensure they participate in the screening exercise.

 

This is how it was stated:

Presently, the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) commence the Senior School Certificate Examination on August 17, it will go on till September 7th.

Similarly, on September 21th or thereabout, NABTEB is already scheduled to start its examination that will go on till on the 15th of October, and immediately after that, the National Examination Council (NECO) commence their examintion on the 5th of November, and it ends November 18th.

 

Institutions registrar further reveal that this timetable is to make sure the entire applicants to be at rest and go through one examination at a time. As stated by the registrar, so either making applicants scared, sometimes, they will need to sit for their school certificate exam in various towns and will make haste in rushing to university elsewhere for Post-UTME screening, so you will need to avoid such difficulties.

 

Institutions who will be sitting down for their Post-UTME screening, make sure that it won’t be earlier than the 7th of September and it will be done twice  on September 7 to October 4th, 2020, it will also be done for the second time on the 18th of November to clear those who are sitting for their school certificate examination.”
